The Contemplation of Contentment
Local Staff Memeber at Zipolo Habu Resort on Lola Island, enjoying the last rays of sunlight from the jetty

Sick, Mate
Surfs up near Lola Island. The sets this day were about 3 foot. Early the next morning the swell had picked up and 10 foot sets were rolling in, crashing on 1 foot of water above the jagged reef. Needless to say, these guys didn't catch many waves that morning.

Small, Non-Descript, Uninhabited Island
Little island a few minutes from Lola where we spent a lazy morning. 'Twas here I spotted a spotted eagle stingray lulling about in the shallows.

Meet your Maker
Smaller fodder swirl in sync as a little yellow and black striped reef fish is about to meet its maker via the jaws of this black-tipped reef shark. This photo was taken from the jetty out front of the resort (below picture).

Leafy the Hut
Rustic leaf hut I stayed in during my time at Lola. Humbled elegance mixed with practical simplicity.

Street-side cafe latte sipping - Honiara Style
Taking a break from volunter marshalling during one of the monthly triathelons held in Honiara. We got the coffee's driven to us from a cafe up the road that has an actual expresso machine. Honiara is such a cosmopolitan place.

Inevitable Reality
Another glorious sunset, from a campspot up the coast from Honiara. A small group of us enjoyed smoked oysters and gin and tonics while counting the number of colours we could visually sense as the sun lowered her head to kiss the horizon in their daily embrace.
